From the Series “Seed”, 2024. The work series is comprised of multiple ceramic sculptures that aesthetically emulate the forms and structures of various plant seeds. The ceramics are tinted with glazes that have been made using the ashes of indigenous trees. The series investigates aesthetic as well as functional properties of seeds as a sort of storage system of information. The materiality adheres to the naturalistic properties of seeds as unchanging objects, able to survive over an indefinite period, yet containing the essential properties of life as a potential for transformation and growth. The works are essentially anecdotal in their symbolic presence.
